Wagashi is a kind of traditional Japanese sweet that is usually served with tea. Its delicate sweetness balances out the bitterness of the tea (here we specifically use matcha, since it’s *almost* every JapanLover’s favorite!), which makes the two such a perfect combo!
There are many kinds of wagashi, and most are made from glutinous rice, red bean paste, or fruits/nuts (even flowers!). Like almost all Japanese food, they are also made in such a way that they are aesthetically pleasing ~ They are as pretty (and oh-so-cute) as they are yummy!! >3<
Do you know someone who can be your matcha, or your sweet wagashi?
