Kyoto is formerly the imperial capital of Japan, hence, it is teeming with rich cultural spots and locations that are worth-visiting!  These are so many things you can do in Kyoto, but according to the recommendation of JapanLover Carly (thank you!), these are the top 10 things to do in Kyoto!

  1. Stroll around Gion, the geiko (geisha) district
  2. Visit the Kinkaku-Ji
  3. Tour around the Kyoto Imperial Palace (the gardens are so beautiful and well-kept ♥)
  4. Visit Kiyomizu-Dera (and brace yourself for a breath-taking scenery)
  5. Play with monkeys at the Iwatayama Monkey Park
  6. Take a walk in the Arashiyama bamboo forest
  7. Have fun at the NAMCO Wonder Tower (floor after floor of arcade games!!)
  8. Read your heart out at the Kyoto International Manga Museum
  9. Visit Fushimi Inari-Taisha
  10. Picnic along the Kamogawa River (especially in Sakura season!!)

    Not only stroll around Gion, but to go to one of those places where you can be dressing an have people doing you a make up like a gueisha……..

    Unfortunely, the Namco Wonder Tower is no more. That building now houses an H&M store (which is a lot less fun of course).
